Preparing for Mass Loading of Student Data for Benchmark Testing

In order to get student data loaded for each nine-weeks benchmark test, the data that is needed must be in a format that the software that loads it can read. The software needs two pieces of information: the section ID and the test ID that we want that course to use. The section ID will need to be obtained from SASIxp and the test ID will be listed further on down in these instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If I am loading data for the High Schools, should I include courses at the Technical School?
A: No, the Technical School provides the data for their students from each of the High Schools.

Getting a List of Section IDs

To get the list of Section IDs for each course from SASIxp, follow these steps:

  1. Open SASIxp and log in.
  2. Double-click the SASI Modules globe in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  3. Double-click the Basic Scheduling folder.
  4. Double-click the Sections Atom.
  5. Click the Sections menu at the top of the screen.
  6. Click Sections List (MST02)
  7. On the drop-down box labeled MASTER SCHEDULE LISTING, select MST04: by Crs ID, Period, Tch ID
  8. Click Print

You will only need the sections for the tests that correspond to your grades.

Preparing the Data for the Testing System

To get the data in the proper format, follow the instructions as follows:

  1. Open Excel
  2. In row 1, column A, place the section ID (e.g. 1150-01)
  3. In row 1, column B, place the test ID (e.g. 23)
  4. In row 2, column A, place the next section ID (e.g. 3130-01)
  5. In row 2, column B, place the next test ID (e.g. 65)
  6. Continue with each section that needs to take a test on the immediately following line.
  7. Put nothing else into the file including, but not limited to, school name or labels for the above data.
  8. When finished, save the file and send it to cedwards@wcs.k12.va.us. In the email, identify the school from which the data came.

Remember that some classes will need to take two tests like English 11. Each section that needs two tests will need a separate line and test like so:

A B
1150-01 23
1150-01 13
