Running Report Cards from SASI
This is the basic process behind running report cards:
Update Current Grading Period.
Update Grades atom to reflect student’s current schedules.
Update Absences for the current period.
Import grades from Integrade to SASI.
Print report cards.
Note: Before proceeding, all teachers should have exported their grades.
I. Update Current Grading Period
In SASI, click the “Grading Setup” atom (In the “Grading” folder, under “Grading Setup”)
Change the “Current Period” to the correct reporting period.
Make sure the dates for this grading period are correct and reflect any changes that needed to be made due to snow days, etc. Make sure to change the next grading period as well.
Click “Save” and click “OK” to save changes.
Click “Close”.
II. Update Grades Atom
Open the “Sys Admin” atom. (In the Utilities folder) Make sure the only user in the system is you. Ask all others to log out SASI for the time being.
Click the “Update Grades” atom. (In Grading folder)
For “Reporting Period”, choose the current six weeks period from the drop-down menu.
Make sure “Update Grade Reporting file from student schedules” is chosen.
Click “Run”. At the bottom right of the screen, a bar will move across as it updates. A message will NOT come up telling you it is complete, but you will be unable to do anything in SASI until it finishes.
When it is finished, click “Update Absences”.
Click “Run”.
When it is finished, click “Update Additional Attendance” IF you use this at your school. If your school does not, skip to Step III.
Click “Run.”
When it is finished, click “Close”.
III. Import Grades from SASI
Open the “Integrade Pro Data Exchange” atom (In the Utilities folder)
Click the “Import Marks Data” option at the top.
Click “All Marks Data” on the left.
Click “Current Reporting Periods”. Make sure the current period is set to “yes” and all others are set to “no”.
Make sure “Include Progress” is NOT checked.
Make sure “Progress Date” is blank.
Click “Import”.
Browse to the “F:” drive.
Click the “IGPRODAT” folder to highlight it.
Click “OK”.
Click “OK” again.
You may receive a notice saying some errors occurred. Just click “OK”. Some errors are normal for this process.
Click “Cancel” to close the “Integrade Pro Data Exchange” atom.
It is recommended at this point that you have teachers check to make sure their grades came over correctly before printing report cards. You can check to see if specific teacher’s grades failed to import via the “Class Grades” atom. Repeat Step III until all teacher’s grades have come over.
IV. Print Report Cards
Open the “Grades” atom. (In the Grading folder)
Click “Grade” on the menu bar at the top of your SASI screen.
Click “Report Cards”.
Where it says “Grade”, choose the grade level(s) you want to print report cards for.
For “Student Status”, leave this at “A” unless you want to print inactive students.
For “Sort on Period”, put the class period you want to sort the report cards for. For example, if you put “03” it will sort the report cards by third period teacher. ALL Elementary schools should pick period “00” to sort by homerooms. If you want it to sort using a different method, like alphabetical, leave the “sort on period” blank and click the “Custom” tab to setup a different sort method.
Click “Print”. (If you want to preview the report cards before they print, go to “Preview Report Cards” below)
If you get a message saying “The page width of the currently selected page orientation is not recommended for this report”, click “Setup Printer”, select the correct printer, click “Landscape” and click “OK”.
If you get a message saying “You must enter a GPA Mark if you want credits to print”, just click “Continue”.
At the bottom left of your screen, you will notice a “Printing report cards” bar moving across. Check your report cards to make sure they look ok. If they do, make sure to print all grades. You are then finished!
